I am Pırıltı (/pɯ.ɾɯɫˈtɯ/). Born in Istanbul, I have lived in Poughkeepsie (NY), and Kocamehmetler (Izmir); I now consider Amsterdam home. I studied Philosophy BA at Vassar College (2016) and did a Research Master’s at the University of Amsterdam in Artistic Research (2024).

Outside of the schooling, I have been educating myself in a variety of fields including but not limited to the performing arts, afrofuturism and olives, creating a diverse body of work in film, theater, visual and sonic arts since my time at Vassar.

I am very much community focused and been drawn to embodied experiences, often searching for playful ways of asking questions and leaving space for multiple meanings. Lately I have been interested in the topics of belonging and collective memory and am inspired by the subtle everyday sounds and the life processes of the city.

My upcoming projects are mainly research-focused and process-based. I am a member of GROND, a new art space and collective at the Nieuwe Bajesdorp, where I will be organising various events and projects/
